In a unexpected partnership that breaks conventional expectations, the game developer has announced an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Adventure Disclosed

According to the formal statement, "A strange encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where whispers of forbidden practices and terrifying metamorphoses reverberate through the obscurity." The plot features a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who charges the duo with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a hidden sect.

The mission centers on "peculiar tests and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Settings and Transformations

The trailer showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser concludes with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Rewards and Extra Material

Players who accomplish the quest will receive an unique katana together with multiple objects hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

Third Free Story Update

This patch also introduces the game's newest free story episode, titled "A Puzzlement."
